Morning Networking & CE:

Using Home Equity to Fund Long-Term Care

Join us for a light networking breakfast (bagels and coffee will be available) followed by a CFP® CE presentation and Q&A.

Long term health care is one of the most frightening problems facing clients today.  Parallel to this is the increasing equity homeowner clients are accruing.  Tapping into this equity can provide the solution to this critical problem.  The reverse mortgage is probably one of the most underutilized and misunderstood financial tools available on the market today.  Come and learn how utilizing a reverse mortgage can provide solutions to your clients’ health care needs.

  • Understand the options available for clients who:
    • Understand the need but don’t think that they can afford long term care insurance;
    • Are too old or ill to now purchase long term care insurance;
    • Don’t have enough funds, but don’t qualify for Medicaid.
  • Understand how reverse mortgages work generally.

SPEAKER: Bonny Gilbert, Fairway Independent Mortgage

Bonny Gilbert joined the mortgage industry in 2010 after years working in finance and later practicing law. When she joined the mortgage industry, she was immediately drawn to reverse mortgages because she recognized the important role reverses could play in increasing retirement security.  Bonny’s background enables her to make the reverse mortgage process understandable for her clients, as well as to educate financial advisors and other professionals about the wide application of the reverse mortgage for financial and estate planning.  Bonny earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her juris doctorate from Suffolk University.
